Diamonds on the Court

We used to see celebrities like film stars, singers or top models wearing diamonds on the Red Carpet or any other events, but now diamonds hit the tennis court.

Maria Sharapova, a former top ranked tennis player, will be promoting Tiffany diamonds during all the four events: Australian Open, U.S. Open, French Open and Wimbledon. 2011 French Open is scheduled for tomorrow, May 17, and will last till June 5. So, if you are the fan of Maria Sharapova and also like diamonds, there will be a double reason for you to watch tennis meets this season.

As for the diamonds, Sharapova gave preference to drop diamond earrings. The latter feature diamonds of the rose cut, one of the oldest types of cuts. There is no pavilion in a basic rose cut and the crown is composed of triangular facets that resemble the petals of a rose. To the boot of all that diamonds are set in platinum to emphasize on the beauty of the design.

When asked why Sharapova had chosen this very design, she said it gives the earrings unique glitter so that they shine with every faction. Apart from than, the earrings are lightweight, what is a meaningful reason to wear them on court. But you are wrong if you think a former world No.1 will be wearing only these very earrings, she has chosen a group of them! And these one will be worn only on French Open in Paris. So, to see the whole collection you should follow the schedule of the grand slam events.
