Blue Diamond That is Worth $9.8 Million

Diamond experts never stop speaking about rarity of fancy colored diamonds. Blues are sure among the most deficient diamonds, that is why when the record price is concerned they are on the top of the list. However, a large number of zeros in a price tag is not a stumbling block for celebrities who like to dazzle their fancy colored diamond jewelry in the limelight. This time the blue diamond jewel that is offered for sale is going to fetch $9.8 million.

This 10.6-carat diamond is called “Royal Blue” that is available via M.S. Rau Antiques in New Orleans. It is of VVS1 clarity grade which, as you can guess, has very very slight inclusions what make it only one step away from internally flawless according to GIA scale. It is a centerpiece of a platinum and rose gold ring, where it is surrounded with a number of small colorless and pale pink diamonds.

Blue diamonds were the most gifted by historical figures and royalty giving them a veil of mystery and preciousness. There is hardly a blue that a person can't admire and this one is no exception. The most famous of them were picked for this list of 15 Most FamousBlue Diamonds of All Time. The majority of them can be seen in museums rather than auctions.
