Give Your Sweetheart a Diamond Heart
No secret this is the heart that is the omnipresent symbol of Valentine's Day. It can be seen everywhere: in heart-shaped Valentine's card, red- or gold-foil wrapped chocolates and heart-shaped diamond jewelry. By the way, the last one is the most popular shape to be presented on V-Day. Want to find out why? Here's the story.
Both ancient Egyptians and Greeks treated hear as the most important organ. It is crucial to the body being responsible for thoughts, believes, reasons and emotions. No secret love is one of the strongest emotions. In the Middle Ages much attention had been paid to a heart symbol that was widely depicted in many pictures. It was associated with the morality and romance as well as with fully devotion to Christ. You may notice it was depicted emitting light that is the heart full of love of Jesus. Moreover, heart had been idealized to unbelievable extents – it was incorporated into the comprehension of afterlife. But it wouldn't have been that esthetically beautiful once it was depicted as a true-to-life muscle organ. So the heart shape as we know it today was first presented by Italian and Belgium artists around the 14th century.

Father's Day Present

Not only women have a need for love and attention, but also men who are usually associated with sternness and rigidity do need some time for sentiments. In this regard Father's Day may be a good reason to pay more attention to your dads and present them with things they would like to have. For some it can be a new device, others will be happy on getting useful tools but there are dads who would appreciate to get something more than a material thing - the memory of loved ones that will never fade.
Who said diamonds are only a girl's best friend? The diamonds we are to speak now can be nothing but the best present to show your sincere feelings to your dads. Currently nobody is surprised with the notion of synthetic or man made diamonds which are flooding the market and at a time make a tough competition to natural diamond jewelry, but memorial diamonds is something new yet with great perspectives to become popular at an early date. Memorial diamonds are real diamonds gems created in laboratories with the use of hair locks or other carbon pieces that serve as the base material for growing. That said, if you live far away from your dad and you know he misses you terribly, you can ease that by presenting him with a gem that will always remind him about you and your feeling for him. A small lock of your hair will be enough to create a gem that you can set into a ring or small diamond gems to incrust a watch with. In any event, your Father's Day present will have a 'soul' or maybe even the whole story like Teresa Margoller's diamond. June 17 is behind the corner!
The memorial diamonds we are speaking about are created by Heart in Diamond, the diamond growing company with the name that has the meaning. You can learn more about them here. Whatever your present is, we wish you happy Father's Day!

Diamonds on Christmas Day

Christmas is the most anticipated holiday! With a lot of preparations and fuss made about it, regrettably but it's over now. But everything comes to an end sooner or later, what is left is the gifts, especially when they are everlasting. 'But are they?': you may ask. The gifts we are going to talk about are diamonds, with everlastingness being their initial property.
This year we looked for some interesting stories about diamonds and Christmas holiday and came across this one, which is now leading the headlines of news websites. This is a quite exciting story about donated diamond jewelry. You should know the Salvation Army kettles, which are always open for any kind of donations. This Xmas a gift consisted of a pair of diamond wedding rings. It is hard to say who was the owner, the workers can only guess but whoever this could be an old couple who wrapped their gift in a $10 bill or a spouse who wanted to get rid of them, this is definitely a generous present. The rings will be appraised and sold and will add a round sum of money to the total amount of charitable donations this year.
As it turned out, this year non-fake jewelry donations were quite popular: someone gave a diamond & sapphire ring in Miami which brought $2,000; a gold coin tucked in a $5 bill was found in Alberta and earned $1,700, and again a diamond ring was a charitable donation outside Kansas City.
It sounds like diamonds are sought-after presents on any occasions. If this year you missed a chance of buying diamond jewelry as a present for Christmas, you shill have one for the New Year. If you want to leave an everlasting impression from your present you should give something special and long-lasting like the most solid gem in the world. What is more, many online retailers and jewelry shops offer amazing discounts for the holiday making diamonds even more appealing, though still not so affordable. So take a chance, only five day left!

It's time to think about the presents for your dearest moms - Mother's Day is coming!

A Mother's love is something that no one can explain,
It is made of deep devotion and of sacrifice and pain,
It is endless and unselfish and enduring come what may
For nothing can destroy it or take that love away . . .
It is patient and forgiving when all others are forsaking,
And it never fails or falters even though the heart is breaking . . .
It believes beyond believing when the world around condemns,
And it glows with all the beauty of the rarest, brightest gems . . .
It is far beyond defining, it defies all explanation,
And it still remains a secret like the mysteries of creation . . .
A many splendoured miracle man cannot understand
And another wondrous evidence of God's tender guiding hand.

Well, Mother's Day is a nice chance to think about our dearest moms and show our gratitude for their patience, forgiveness and prayers. A great part of what we are is brought up by mothers. This year all Americans are going to celebrate this sweet holiday on May 9. It's time to think about the celebration. Do you know how you are going to celebrate this day? If not yet there is a list of ideas how to please your mom:
- Make a breakfast. Breakfast is a starting point of the whole day, so in order to create a good mood for the whole holiday it is offered to cook a breakfast. Even though you do not consider yourself to be a cookery specialist, the main thing here is not the dainty dishes but your care and efforts. Make a cup of coffee and a sandwich or fry flapjacks, cook what you can. Remember, your mother will surely love the meal if you serve it with flowers:)
- Postcard. Though there is a heap of sweet postcards with most pleasant poems and words it is suggested to make a handmade postcard. You may do it with your children for them to give it to their granny. Write the words of gratitude there but let them to be personal like "Thank you for being so patient to me even when I broke your single vase that the father brought you from Cuba". There is a nice chance for you both to look back at the past and laugh at it.
- Party. If you have brothers and/or sisters it would be great for all of you to meet together. You may organize (you but not your mother, this is her day today!) a kind of barbecue on your mother's backyard, play games and recollect the days of your childhood together. Surely, there were a lot of funny situations.
- Flowers. Carnations are considered to be the symbol of Mother's Day. It was Anna Jarvis who brought 500 carnations for the first celebration of this holiday in 1908. Well, 500 could be too many, but a bunch would be just great. You may buy red carnations - they are beautiful - or any other flowers in case your mother doesn't like them.
- Present. What a holiday is without the present! Probably, you know the thing your mother is dreaming about like an ancient brass coffee mill or a handmade patchwork quilt or a new vacuum cleaner or a china tea-set, etc. Then buy it. If you don't know exactly think about the present she will surely like. For example, most women love jewelry, if your mother is not an exception you may choose a nice ring or earrings for her. Diamond jewelry could be a nice gift with symbolic meaning like a fadeless and durable diamond gem is a symbol of everlasting love and nothing could break it.
You are welcome to leave your comments and tell how you celebrate this holiday.
